Germany's backtracking on the European Supply Chain Act may have tarnished its reputation as a reliable partner in Europe. But primarily it has prevented a new bureaucratic monster from Brussels, at least for now, says LBBW Chief Economist Moritz Kraemer.
"Excessive bureaucracy is now the biggest obstacle to investment in the SME sector," says Kraemer. "The ambitious EU project would just add to that burden."
